This volume, consisting of brief homiletic reflections with a catechetical flavor, is the first in a series intended to accompany the feast days through the stages that make up the Lenten season of anticipation. For a long time, I have wanted to share with the readers of Doxologia the inner journey of Lent. We begin with The Road to Bethlehem and as I write the preface to this collection, I have completed Dawn of the Resurrection (covering the Lenten season of 2026), while I’m in the midst of publishing daily texts about the Pentecost season. No, these aren’t ambitious pieces, but rather diary entries. A sort of roadmap for specific periods of time, clothed in the simplicity of joy. Because I believe that joy is not complicated; it does not wound with opulence, nor does it transform the valleys of sin into a ballroom.
