In the year 2020, in Suceava, a city steeped in history and spirituality, Crimca Publishing House was born, a cultural initiative aimed at carrying forward the tradition of writing and witnessing the faith through books. Founded on the initiative and with the blessing of His Eminence Calinic, Archbishop of Suceava and Rădăuților, the institution has from the outset wanted to be more than just a publishing house: a place where culture, faith and the living memory of Bucovina meet.
The symbolic patronage of the publishing house is entrusted to a prominent figure in Romanian church history, Metropolitan Anastasie Crimca (1560-1629), known as a great founder of culture and a man of prayer and wisdom. His name evokes a time when manuscripts adorned with painstaking care and love of beauty were born in monastery monastery cellars and the written word became a bridge between generations. Under this inspiration, the publishing house aims to continue the same mission of preserving and spreading spiritual values in contemporary forms of printing.
Each year, the editorial plan of the publishing house takes shape through the work of an editorial committee, which carefully chooses the themes and works that will see the light of print. Thus volumes dedicated to great anniversaries and church commemorations, studies of ecclesiastical history, monographs of the churches and monasteries of the diocese, and art albums that capture the beauty of Bucovina's sacred heritage. These books also include biographies of Bukovinian personalities, theological works, texts on Christian spirituality, sermons and pastoral guidance.
The Crimca Publishing House also provides printing space for the works presented at symposia and conferences organized by the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților, transforming theological ideas and reflections into books meant to circulate and inspire. In this way, each published volume becomes a testimony of faith, memory and local culture.
Thus, in a city where past and present meet at every step, Crimca Publishing House continues to write, page by page, a story about faith, culture and identity, keeping alive the Bucovina's book tradition and offering future generations a precious spiritual heritage.
