On Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Technical College of Rădăuți in Suceava County, was consecrated the third cultural-catechetical school center of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților. The center in Rădăuți bears the name „Episcop Gherasim Putneanul”, evokes the ecclesial, cultural and pedagogical personality of the former Vedic, who resided at Bogdana Monastery in Rădăuți, and is intended to be a multidimensional space of learning and academic experience, socio-emotional and spiritual for the young people of the college, but also a place of counseling and integration for children and young people at risk throughout the city and for Ukrainian refugee children and young people.
The project of the school cultural-catechetical center is coordinated by the Suceava County School Inspectorate, through the religion inspector, prof. Daniela Ceredeev, was developed with the blessing of His Most Reverend Father Archbishop Calinic, who - by the way - also gave it the name and recommended the architecture of the action plan and activities, and was realized with the considerable investment of prof. dr. Aurica Daneliuc, professor of Romanian language and literature-religion at the Technical College Rădăuți.
The inauguration event was a three-dimensional one and started with the consecration mass of the center, officiated by His Eminence the Most Reverend Father Damaschin Dorneanul, Bishop-Vicar of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților. The first cultural event of the center followed - the Conference „About the Beautiful Man”, held by Dan Puric, actor, essayist, author and theater director, author of the homonymous book, which was attended by an impressive number of young high school students, teachers, priests, members of the General Assembly of Fathers, local officials.
The sustainability component of this project was also anticipated by the organization of the Crimca Publishing House's Book Fair, where 22 titles of the recently published titles of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților were presented and consulted.
Prof. Daniela Ceredeev conveyed that the inauguration of the center consecrated today is also an invitation for those who wish to get involved in the activities for children „I consider it significant that the complex program of alternative learning that this school center proposes will be carried out on a voluntary basis for teachers and priests who wish to become contributors and will be structured according to the model of teacher-student mentoring, tutoring between students, spiritual counseling and coaching.”
