The annual county conference of religion teachers in the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților

The working meeting of religion teachers from Suceava County, an annual methodical event, which was attended by both the regular teachers, who teach the subject in the county's schools, and substitute teachers on the religion departments this school year, was held yesterday, September 23, 2022, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Calinic, in Room Pimen the Archbishop of the Eparchial Center.

„Motivation and innovation in creative teaching of religion” was the central theme of the meeting - keystone of the conference, a topic as topical as it is necessary in today's educational context.

After the opening blessing, His Eminence the Most Reverend Father Damaschin Dorneanul, Vicar-Bishop of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților, spoke to the participants about the dedication of the teacher and the need for inner discovery when he is a guide for children and young people.

The event also included a series of workshops designed to support teachers in the work they do in their schools, both for the benefit of the pupils and for the institutions they represent. The presentations focused on developing communication and interpersonal skills, managing emotions in crisis situations, as well as details/aspects related to administrative work.

„Personal and institutional branding”, was the first presentation of this meeting, given by Fr. Ștefan Mihalcea, diocesan counselor in the Media and Communication Sector of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților. It was brought to the attention the importance of being aware of the fact that the messages transmitted on social networks also involve the image of the institution they represent.

During the event, the information and tools activity was presented Emotional and social resilience in crisis situations (post-pandemic/war) by the religion inspector, Prof. Daniela Ceredeev, national trainer in sustainability and social responsibility programs, initiator and moderator of the conference. At the same time, words of thanks were offered to all those who have been involved in the projects carried out by the Suceava County Inspectorate and the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților in the last year.

The day's agenda also included Diagram of the educational process for religion and analysis of the activities carried out in the school year 2021-2022, Presentation of the specific normative framework for the organization of the educational process in the school year 2022-2023, and Analysis of the Centralized Report of open educational resources at discipline level. It also took place Communication of the operational county plan for the training of religion teachers in the school year 2022 - 2023, of the portfolio of training activities organized at the level of the subject by the Suceava County School Inspectorate, as well as Programming collaborative learning activities and workshops at the level of pedagogical circles in the school year 2022-2023.

The participating teachers enjoyed the presentation and consultation of the Salon Books for the soul of the Crimca Publishing House of the diocese of Suceava, established two years ago at the initiative and with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Calinic.

The opening and tour of the photo gallery also took place today Children and books, images by the Media and Communication Sector of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților.

The results obtained by the students of Suceava's schools, from all the religious denominations represented in the county, at the national stages of the Olympiads and school competitions in the specific subject, included in the Ministry of Education calendar, were highlighted. At the same time, the impact and results of the 22 programs and projects at the eparchial/county, regional and national level, organized in the previous school year by the Suceava County School Inspectorate, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuților, were highlighted. The quality and diversity of in-service training sessions attended by religious education teachers during the reference period were other topics discussed during the meeting.

It was also evoked the attention that His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel has given to the „National Program of catechetical exercise and reflective writing of the letter-fluvium type - The traveling and sanctifying Bible”, by granting the blessing to organize a homonymous itinerant exhibition in the Europa Christiana Hall of the Patriarchal Palace and by awarding the Diploma of Honour „Saint Apostle Andrew, Patron Saint of Romania” to the entire program.

The meeting ended with a visit to the book and photo galleries, as well as the one where there were exhibited special objects with the representation of the Holy Cross, handmade by students of the „Mihai Eminescu” National High School in Suceava.
